Magic users are called Thaumaturges

All the people that can use magic can do anything that is possible by magic but, just like crafts in the real world, certain people tend to lean into more specific usages of magic that tend to their needs.
Magic can be categorized into 4 main categories, these categories can be divided further, almost all magic arts fall onto one of these categories. The magic arts were created to easily identify the magic needs of someone, of course they are not used everywhere but most people know what a “Wizard” is if you tell them you are one.

Mages and Magic

The most basic and varied magic art, it deals with manipulating the world around you.

Think terraforming, water scaping, manipulating already pre-existing material and changing their composition or its shape and purpose. Its the most varied magic art ranging from artisans to builders and scientists.
Subcategories- Alquemists: Applied magic specifically to scientific purposes and subjects, more precise and time consuming.

Witches and Witchcraft

Manipulation of natural elements with the objective to affect other beings.

The mages of biological matter, witches are heavily associated with healing and medicine. They are also known to deal with non physical (mental or spiritual) problems.

Wizards and Wizardry

Related to the night and unexplained phenomena.

Wizards come from witches that leaned more into non physical phenomena, unexplained and folklore stories of the unknown.
Subcategories- Conjurers: illusionists, mostly storytellers.

Augurs and Augury

Communication and understanding of Mircles

Augurs are anyone that deal with with Angels, its the most recent magic discipline but historically it precedes almost all of them. Augurs used to come as "Saints" with visions from the future and other premonitions, they appear in many cultures around the world but have been only given a proper name and understanding recently.
